Yoga Demonstration
Omkarananda Saraswati Nilayam Inter College Muni-ki-reti,
on 24th May 2008
It
was a very special day in Omkarananda Saraswati Nilayam Inter
College when one of the very prominent officers, Former President
of the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal (ITAT), Shri G.C.
Krishnamurthy and his wife, Smt. Uma Krishnamurthy, - on special
invitation - came to see the Yoga demonstration by the students of
Classes 3, 4 and 5.
In a most charming but still very
concentrated way and in perfect English a very young girl student
welcomed the Chief Guests and Swami Vishveshwarananda with
beautiful flower bouquets. The Yoga group
demonstration started with different poses under the guidance of
the experienced Yoga Teacher, Anuradha Bhargawa, with point to
point explanations. The way these young students mastered their
skills in this old traditional Vedic science of Yoga was
surprising.
The highlight of the function came when three specially
selected students gave a very rare performance, mounting from
headstand to Pranayama. Discipline and hard work made them truly
outstanding. The way these students could bend their legs, their
arms and their bodies was undoubtedly highly praiseworthy.
Finally, the honourable Chief Guest, Shri Krishnamurthy, in
his address, praised the students for their excellent work in the
field of Yoga. The Former President of the ITAT had very good
interaction with the students, which made the function even more
interesting.
Swami
Vishveshwarananda thanked all the students for their hard work and
perfect demonstrations. Special thanks went to the expert Yoga
Teacher of Omkarananda Saraswati Nilayam, Sushri Anuradha Bhargawa,
for her tireless efforts to bring High Class Yoga to the young
students.
No doubt it was the honourable Principal, Col.
D.L. Sachdeva, whose idea it was to incorporate Yoga as a part of
the training in Omkarananda Saraswati Nilayam Inter College. The
demonstration has shown that he was very successful.

Shrimad Bhagawat Saptaha Katha by Pandit Rajeshwar
Omkarananda Ganga Mata Mandir,
Trivenighat, Rishikesh from 5th June 2008 to 12th June
2008

A
Katha programme was arranged by devotees of Haryana namely through
its leader, Shri Govind Singh Chauhan, a retired Sarpanch and his
associates.
Pandit Rajeshwar from Madhya Pradesh, along with four
musicians and two pandits demonstrated an excellent performance in
the form of Katha. The programme was for 8 days. Chief Guest Shri
Swami Vishveshwarananda along with Kumari Somashekhari started the
Katha by lighting the lamp for Paramahamsa Omkarananda Saraswati.
Swami Vishveshwarananda inspired all with his encouraging joyous
words of divine blessings and Kumari Somashekhari addressed the
audience with her brilliant Hindi. The hall of Omkarananda Ganga
Mata Mandir was packed full with adults and children, who in a
joyous and a very happy mood followed the teachings of Pandit
Rajeshwar. Kumari Somashekhari and her dance students were
requested to give their performance on the 5th day of the Katha.
With these dances and the brilliance she demonstrated, she won the
hearts of the audience. Finally the audience was so delighted that
many people started dancing, though in a very crowded way. The
atmosphere was sparkling and there were tremendous divine
vibrations, that made the function very lightful and to the
satisfaction of everybody. Kumari Somashekhari and her students
were treated like VIPs and the mothers were so overwhelmed that
they hugged Soma and her students.
This Katha was a very
successful programme with the assistance of Mr. Gaur, who took
care for each and everything. It was a remembrance for everybody
who could join this function.
On 7th June 2008 the great
musician and Katha Vyas, Shri Pandit Rajeshwarji, paid a visit to
the headquarters of Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas, along with some
devotees. He was so delighted by the divine atmosphere and
cleanliness of this place, that he expressed his wish to perform a
Devi-Katha there in near future.
