Volley Ball
Tournament in Omkarananda
Institute of Management & Technology 28th March 2008
"Well, we don't want you to be a
bookworm. Rather we want you to be a business leader, an event
manager, not just going for theoretical knowledge or philosophy.
Can you face challenges in life? If you feel bored in the class
room, we ask you to come out in the playfield and prove your
mettle. Great battles were won on the playfields of the schools of
the heroes, where they could shape their lives in youth. So says
the famous saying - The battle of Waterloo was won on the
playfields of Eton and Harrow." - proclaims our dashing Director,
Dr. Banerjee, calling upon our young aspiring leaders to come and
play tennis, badminton, football, volley ball, carom, chess,
cricket and other such games.
So,
a volley ball tournament was held on 28. March 2008, in the
Institute, after the internal tests were over.
Great
preparations were made with full zeal and enthusiasm, with
levelling the ground, sprinkling water and clearing and
smoothening it. Beautiful tents were pitched up for the guests and
faculty, staff, students and onlookers.
There were eight
matches by BBA, BCA, MBA teams.
Principal
I.D. Joshi, in the august presence of the enthusiastic Director,
Dr. S.N. Banerjee, inaugurated the match by cutting the ribbon and
Dr. Banerjee was shaking hands with team captains and players,
wishing them good luck. The match started with much fanfare and
ado. It has been one of the most fantastic and exciting events we
ever had in the history of OIMT.
To our wonder and surprise
we could see the great potential lying in these players who could
discover and evolve their talent and potential in the sports
ground, which also helps them to become best event managers in
real life and face any challenge in their life.

Inauguration of Playroom at
Omkarananda Saraswati Nilayam
Preparatory School, Rishikesh 12th April 2008
To
give more facilities and opportunities to the small kids a
beautiful playroom was designed as an avenue to explore their
creativity and to expose themselves to many things that are
available to children from big cities. The play room provides a
reprieve to the children from the monotony of the class room.
The playroom was formally inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Col.
Sachdeva, Principal of Omkarananda Saraswati Nilayam Inter
College, Shri I.D. Joshi, OIMT, and Shri Varshneyji, from the
Board of the Management. They were all given a
special welcome by the children
with bouquets, welcome salute, welcome clap and escorting
them to the steps leading to the play room.
Smt. Usha, who took great interest in the
establishment of the playroom, went around with the guests and
showed them the thoughtfully designed and very attractive place
for the youngsters to come.
