On 18th December 2004 Swami Vishweshwarananda, President of Omkarananda Ashram
Himalayas, was specially invited to inaugurate a 10-days camp of Rashtriya Seva
Yojna as a Chief Guest in the Postgraduate Degree College, Rishikesh. Prof.
Rajwar was so kind to bring Swami Vishweshwarananda to the College, where
Swamiji was welcomed by many wonderful Professors and students of the College.
After inaugurating the camp Swami Vishweshwarananda held a thrilling speech. He
received thunderous applause for his inspiring words by all Professors and
students of the College.
Omkarananda
Mahotsava in
Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas (25.12.2004 - 4.1.2005)
The 5th Omkarananda Mahotsava, which started on 25th December 2004, was
celebrated with great spirit and wonderful actions in honour of Gurudev
Paramahamsa Omkarananda Saraswati.
Omkarananda Jayanti on 25th December, the birthday of Swami Omkarananda, started
with the Sundarkand Path in the early morning. It was followed by a cultural
programme, which filled the hearts of the audience with great joy and happiness.
Wonderful and skilled presentations were being given by the small children of
Omkarananda Preparatory School. Their appearance had a dynamic impact and they
were really excellent and truly well trained.

The students of
the higher classes of Omkarananda Saraswati Nilayam made a breakthrough with a
devotional dance-drama "War & Peace".

The dance students
of Km. Somashekhari performed Omkarananda Vandana Dance with unique perfection.
The special dance-dresses made them looking like small Goddesses. To run up the
programmes the professional dance by the Director of Omkarananda Saraswati Natya
Kala Academy, Km. Somashekhari, showed again the high quality perfection and
spiritual devotion to Art, Music and Dance.

After all these
inspiring performances Siddhartha Krishna, a young genius and highly learned
Katha-Vachak, spoke on the life of Swami Omkarananda. The President Swami
Vishweshwarananda thanked the students and teachers and all the participants for
their hard work, which made this function so exciting.
In the end
everybody received the Prasadam, which was offered as a Bhandara and served to
the entire audience and participants.
The 2nd day of Omkarananda Mahotsava was being marked by special Hawana for
Gurudev Swami Omkarananda by all the priests of Omkarananda Kamakshi Devi Mandir.
In the afternoon Bhajan Sandhya, Special Arati for Gurudev Swami Omkarananda and
Prasad Distribution were being held in Omkarananda Kamakshi-Devi Mandir.
Gurudev was
honoured on the 3rd day by spiritual dances, highly steeped with devotion, by
Km. Somashekhari and also by her students, in the presence of Omkarananda
Kamakshi Devi. A very special Arati for Swami Omkarananda concluded the
function.

Up to the 31st
December daily special Hawanas, Bhajan-Kirtan, dances and Arati were being
conducted, followed by Prasad-distribution.

The special
prayers on the New Year's day i.e. 1st January 2005 respectively the 8th day of
Omkarananda Mahotsava, took place on the bank of holy river Ganga. The nicely
decorated Omkarananda Ghat in front of Ganga Devi Murti and the silent flow of
majestic Mother Ganga made the air vibrating with spiritual power. Siddhartha
Krishna conducted the entire function and Prabhuji in his speech referred to the
great works and writings of Paramahamsa Omkarananda Saraswati. After a special
Arati beautiful flower Deepas, offered with prayers to Ma Ganga, were finally
shining on the holy river.
The 9th and 10th day of the beautiful festival continued with devotional dances,
Hawanas, Kirtans and special Arati to the holy Lotus Feet of Swami Omkarananda.

The 11th and
concluding day of Omkarananda Mahotsava, was marked with the presence of
numerous Saints and Sadhus who conducted powerful prayers and Bhajans. Prasadam
(Bhandara) and offerings were given to all the Saints and Sadhus among chanting
of holy Mantras by Siddhartha Krishna, Km. Somashekhari and various Sadhus.
