Thought for the Day:
|
|
"The perception of the one Life Principle or God, in all, the merging of the personal self in the Divine Self of all creatures, great and small, is the ultimate meaning and end of life. To rise from this world of limitations while yet breathing on earth into the boundless world of Freedom and Beauty, Power and Joy, is the purpose of our brief, but meaningful existence."

Tevaliyakhal is a small village situated at an
altitude of 2000 m. Although it is located only
about 60 km from Thalisain, it requires from
there a 3-hours drive due to the poor road
conditions. The nearest temple is Binsar Mandir,
which is 3 hours walk from the village. Local
farmers here grow potatoes and rice.
Omkarananda Doon Public School is situated on a
hill slope overlooking a beautiful valley of
terrace fields. It is housed in a simple
two-storey building.
The School has been founded in 2000 and runs
classes from Nursery to V. Children come on foot
from as far as 7 km away, which is about 1½
hours of walking one way. Other than the core
curriculum, they also learn various local songs
and dances.
