Guru-Purnima Celebrations in Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas,
on 20th and 21st July 2024

In the night of 20th July 2024, after the auspicious time of Guru- Purnima, the Full Moon, dedicated to the spiritual Guru, had started, a divine cultural program, in Honour of Sadgurudev Shri Paramahamsa Omkarananda Saraswati, was conducted in the Mandapa of Omkarananda-Kamakshi-Devi Mandir. Dr. Anupam Vaid, an important Trustee of Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas, welcomed all devotees and guests and as Master of Ceremonies guided them nicely through the celebration.

Guru-Bhakti-Ratna Kumari Somashekhari, with a beautiful, shining blue dance dress, performed a heart-touching Bharatanatyam Temple-Dance, in Honour of her adorable Sadgurudev Shri Paramahamsa Omkarananda Saraswati.

Kumari Somashekhari had trained four small kids in a few Mantras and Sanskrit Shlokas. Here one can see Somashekhari, giving some last-minute instructions to her students.

The children recited the Mantras and Shlokas in a flawless manner and with highly perfect pronunciation. From left to right: Kumari Akshita, Kumari Akriti, Kumari Arohi and Shri Devesh.

The audience could enjoy a divine dance by Kumari Arohi, a well-trained dance-student of Kumari Somashekhari.

Kumari Somashekhari was singing a Hindi-Bhajan, in which the infinite Glory of Sadgurudev Shri Paramahamsa Omkarananda Saraswati was described. She was nicely accompanied on Tabla by an enthusiastic Tabla student, Shri Sachin Vyas.

Shri Manoj Pandey rewarded all the four children and the young Tabla Master for their wonderful contribution to the Guru-Purnima Celebrations.

Kumari Somashekhari performed another beautiful and powerful Bharatanatyam Temple-Dance.

The highlight of the Guru-Purnima Celebration was the amazing, lively and divine speech by H.H. Mahant Shri Swami Vishveshwarananda Saraswati, President, Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas and appointed Successor of Sadgurudev Shri Paramahamsa Omkarananda Saraswati.

Kumari Somashekhari concluded her worship of Shri Paramahamsa Omkarananda Saraswati with the Omkarananda Arati Dance.

The Guru-Purnima Celebrations in Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas continued next morning, on 21st July 2024, with special Pujas for His Divinity Sadgurudev Shri Paramahamsa Omkarananda Saraswati.

The two direct Sannyasi Disciples of Shri Paramahamsa Omkarananda Saraswati, Shri Swami Vishveshwarananda and Kumari Somashekhari, did Abhisheka for their Gurudev's Silver Padukas.

Mahant Shri Swami Vishveshwarananda was blessed with the Padukas of Shri Paramahamsa Omkarananda Saraswati, which one of the Omkarananda Ashram Priests had put on his head.

Shri Swami Vishveshwarananda and Kumari Somashekhari jointly offer a fresh rose flower mala to the holy Padukas of their Gurudev.
