"Jeernodharana Rajata Bandhana Maha-Kumbhabhishekam"

Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas on

Temple musicians, playing Nadaswaram and
Thavil (Templedrum), are an integral part of this holy function.

Preparations in the Mandapa of
Omkarananda-Kamakshi-Devi Mandir for the Kalakarshanam of all
Deities of Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas, including Shri
Omkarananda-Kamakshi-Devi, where the Prana, or life-force, of the
living and breathing and vibrant Deities of each Garbha Griha
(Sanctum Sanctorum) is transferred by special rituals into holy
Kalashas for further Pujas.

Go puja (Cow-Puja) and Ashwa Puja
(Horse-Puja) by Shri Swami Vishveshwarananda and others.


A Procession with the holy Kalashas, the
Kalasha of Shri Omkarananda-Kamakshi-Devi, being carried in the
front, proceeds around the Temple.


Thereafter all Kalashas were carried up to
the Temple roof and placed at their respective Vimanam, the Tower
above the Garbha Griha, or the Sanctum Sanctorum, of a Deity.



A few holy Bharatanatyam Temple-Dance
movements by Kumari Somashekhari in front of the Vimanam of the
sacred Shrine of Sadgurudev Shri Paramahamsa Omkarananda
Saraswati.


Shri Swami Vishveshwarananda and Kumari
Somashekhari arrive with the South Indian Priests in the Gurukul
of Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas, the Omkarananda Gayatri Ved
Vidyalaya, which is situated directly at the holy Ganga.

Kumari
Somashekhari welcomes all the noble Priests.

The Students of the Gurukul Omkarananda
Gayatri Ved Vidyalaya impress the South Indian Priests by their
brilliant Vedic Recitations in the Shukla Yajurveda Style.

Shri Swami Vishveshwarananda and the
Principal of the Gurukul, Shri Vedacharya Shivkumar Malviya, are
addressing the honourable Priests.


South Indian
Priest, Shri Karthikeyan Kailasam, recites the powerful Ganapati
Taalam.

Even Maa Ganga,
flowing nearby, must have enjoyed the blissful and holy
rhythmic Prayer to Lord Ganesha.

Vishveshwarananda Saraswati, Shri Swami Satchidananda Saraswati
and Kumari Somashekhari, the noble South Indian Priests, the
bright Gurukul Students and their Principal, facing the Ganga. In
the background, the grand building Omkarananda Gayatri Sadan,
which houses the Gurukul, is visible.

In the evening
the first Kala Yajna Shala Pooja and Homa started.

Arati for the special Kalasha, into which
the Prana (Life-Force) of Shri Omkarananda-Kamakshi-Devi has been
transferred.

The whole area
was charged with an extremely peaceful and mystical vibration.

Shri Swami Vishveshwarananda, Shri Swami
Satchidananda and Kumari Somashekhari carry in a procession the
Homa Dravyams, different holy ingredients for the Yajna,
consisting of fragrant herbs, etc.

After Arati,
Priest Prathap Anandham offers fragrant rose petals.
