Visit by Mahant Shri Swami Vishveshwarananda and
Kumari Somashekhari to Omkarananda Gayatri Ved Vidyalaya,
the Vedic Gurukul of Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas,
at the Ganga, on 4th November 2022

View from the upper part of the area of Omkarananda Gayatri Sadan, towards its different buildings. On the extreme left side one can see a small part of the grand 4 storey Main-Building, and a glimpse of the holy Mother Ganga can be had through leaves and branches of different trees. This huge, most holy and heavenly area has been provided free of cost since the last more than 8 years by Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas, through its President Mahant Shri Swami Vishveshwarananda Saraswati, for the Education and Residential Stay of young Brahmin Boys, who are interested to thoroughly study the Vedas and live a divine and disciplined life. This exceptionally beautiful Vedic Gurukul runs in the name of "Omkarananda Gayatri Ved Vidyalaya". Round the year about 30 to 35 Vedic Students live, pray and study here.

The Yajnashala of the Omkarananda Gayatri Ved Vidyalaya is situated at a most idyllic place, right at the shore of holy Mother Ganga, surrounded by bushes, trees and flowering plants. During nice weather it serves as an open classroom for the Gurukul Students and their Teachers.

On 4th November 2022 Mahant Shri Swami Vishveshwarananda Saraswati, President, Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas, and Kumari Somashekhari, General Secretary and Indian Classical Dancer and Musician, paid an unannounced visit to the Gurukul Omkarananda Gayatri Ved Vidyalaya. They were very happy to see, that all Students were fully engaged in practising intensively the proper Recitation of different portions of the Vedas, guided by their Principal, Ved Acharya Shri Shivkumar Malviya.

Swami Vishveshwaranandaji and Kumari Somashekhari requested the Gurukul Principal to prepare some Vedic Students for a special Vedic Recitation in Honour of Paramahamsa Omkarananda Saraswati, during the Celebration of Omkarananda Jayanti, December 2022. This time a new batch of the younger Junior Students will get the chance to show their talent in reciting the Vedas.

Here one can see Kumari Somashekhari having intensive discussions with the Principal of Omkarananda Gayatri Ved Vidyalaya, Acharya Shivakumar Malviya.

The younger Vedic Students of the Gurukul Omkarananda Gayatri Ved Vidyalaya are demonstrating their skills, while the holy Ganga is flowing peacefully, just adjoining to them.

Extremely happy and thrilled with the marvellous and perfect chanting by the new batch of the young Vedic students, Kumari Somashekhari thanks and praises them and rewards them with chocolates.

The Gurukul Principal, Acharya Shri Shivkumar Malviya, assures Kumari Somashekhari, that the Gurukul Students will attend the coming Omkarananda Jayanti Celebrations, fully prepared. On the left side of the photo one can see another Ved Acharya, originally from Lucknow, Acharya Avanish Tiwari, who assists Acharya Shri Shivkumar Malviya in teaching the Omkarananda Gayatri Ved Vidyalaya Students in a highly professional way.
