Krishna-Janmashtami Celebration,
in Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas, on 19th August 2022

Inside the beautiful Omkarananda-Kamakshi-Devi Mandir, in front of the Shrine of "Shri Padmavati samet Balaji" (Shri Padmavati with her Consort Balaji or Lord Venkateshwara), a lovely Altar for Krishna Gopalji was established, to celebrate Krishna-Janmashtami, on 19th August 2022.

Heavy rain was going on, but that did not deter the Omkarananda Ashram Pandits to worship Lord Krishna with deep devotion. Here one can see Shri Mukesh Panditji, performing Pujas at the Altar, while Chief-Priest Suresh Panditji and Sanjay Panditji were sitting nearby and reciting powerfully the Vishnu Sahasranama and important Mantras, suitable for this occasion.

After completion of the Main Pujas for Lord Krishna, some other Omkarananda Ashram Priests were singing nice Krishna Bhajans.

Krishna Gopalji is sitting happily on his wooden Jhula (swing), decorated with shining clothes and flowers. In front of Him one can see different fruits, coconut and delicious fresh butter, made by the Omkarananda Ashram Priests from the creme of cow's milk, which had been filled into small earthen pots. To make the butter even more tasty, the Priests had added mishri (crystal or rock sugar) and put on the top of it fresh Tulsi leaves from the Temple garden. Fresh butter is the favourite of Lord Krishna, and surely He had great joy in this special Prasadam, which was offered to Him during the Pujas.

After conclusion of Bhajan and Kirtan and elaborate Pujas for Lord Krishna, Shri Mukesh Panditji offered Arati and Pushpanjali.

Shri Swami Satchidananda Saraswati, Treasurer, Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas, did not want to miss the opportunity to let Krishna Gopalji happily swing front and back, with the help of the chain, fixed on His Jhula.

A wonderful Devotee of Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas, Shrimati Vandana Vaid, joyously takes the long chain, in order to let the sweet Lord gently move to and fro.
