Shri Ganesha Chaturthi Celebration,
in Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas, on 31st August 2022

For the Celebration of Shri Ganesha Chaturthi, on 31st August 2022, a lovely Altar had been established by the Omkarananda Ashram Priests in the Yajnashala of Omkarananda-Shanta-Durga Mandir. Extensive Pujas were conducted there.

On this occasion a very powerful Mahaganapati Homa was conducted by the Chief-Priest of Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas, Shri Suresh Joshiji. Along with him, Mahant Shri Swami Vishveshwarananda Saraswati, President, Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas, and another important Omkarananda Ashram Priest, Shri Sanjay Panditji, sitting next to Swamiji, took part in this great Hawana.

During recitations of Mystical Syllables, invoking the Presence and Grace of Lord Ganapati, offerings to Agni Devata were made by Shri Swami Vishveshwaranandaji and the Omkarananda Ashram Priests.

With deep devotion Purnahuti was offered by H.H. Shri Swami Vishveshwarananda Saraswati.

The grand Mahaganapati Homa, in the Yajnashala of Omkarananda-Shanta-Durga Mandir, was concluded with Arati for Lord Ganesha by Shri Swami Vishveshwarananda Saraswati.

Shri Swami Satchidananda Saraswati, Treasurer, Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas, also performs Arati for Lord Ganesha.

All the three direct Sannyasi Disciples of His Divinity Shri Paramahamsa Omkarananda Saraswati are offering rose-flower petals to Lord Ganesha. Swami Vishveshwarananda, Swami Satchidananda and Kumari Somashekhari carefully carry holy Kalashas from the Ganesha Altar, established inside the Yajnashala. They have left Omkarananda-Shanta-Durga Mandir and proceed towards the nearby Omkara-Mahaganapati Mandir. Mukesh Panditji leads the procession, and he purifies the floor constantly with holy Ganga Jal. Right behind is Sanjay Panditji, holding a Guggul Burner, from which the divine fragrance of burning Guggul emanates, dispelling obstacles and negative vibrations.

Having reached the small, but very lovely Omkara-Mahaganapati Mandir, the participants of the Kalasha Yatra proceed with great reverence three times around this Temple, which looks very attractive in its colourful, typical South Indian Style.

The holy Kalashas are handed over to the Omkarananda Ashram Priests for Abhisheka of Lord Omkara-Mahaganapati inside the Garbhagriha of His Temple.

With the help of fresh Mango Leaves, Shri Sanjay Panditji blesses Swami Satchidananda, Swami Vishveshwarananda and Kumari Somashekhari with the holy water of the Kalasha.
