Conclusion of Omkarananda Mahotsava,
on 31st December 2022

This board is fixed on the upper part of a hill, at the entrance to the Vedic Gurukul of Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas. The Omkarananda Gayatri Ved Vidyalaya is situated in a huge and most beautiful property, at the holy Ganga, where since more than 8 years around 30 to 35 Vedic Students and some of their Teachers can live free of cost and dedicate their whole time and energy undisturbed to the holy Vedas.

Students of the Omkarananda Gayatri Ved Vidyalaya are facing Ganga Maa, while reciting skillfully different Vedic Hymns. Behind them one can see a small Goshala with a few cows.

Usually Omkarananda Mahotsava is concluded at this holy place, each year, on 31st December, with a grand spiritual and cultural Function in Honour of Sadgurudev Shri Paramahamsa Omkarananda Saraswati. But this year it became unexpectedly so severely cold, that this event, which always takes place directly at the Ganga, in the open air, had to be reduced to a minimum of time, in order to safeguard the health of the Vedic Students and others. Even in the Capital City of India, New Delhi, the Minimum Temperature in this winter was dropping down to almost 1 Degree Celsius.
Therefore Shri Swami Satchidananda Saraswati, Treasurer, Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas, Dr. Anupam Vaid, Trustee, Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas (standing next to Swamiji) and Shri Pradeep Vaid, Manager, Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas (left), - in a short and sweet ceremony - rewarded the Acharyas and the Students with gifts, Dakshina and warm orange blankets. Here one can see the Pradhan-Acharya, the Principal of Omkarananda Gayatri Ved Vidyalaya, Acharya Shri Shivkumar Malviya, being honoured and rewarded by Swamiji, for teaching the students so well. On the right side one can see a very bright Vedic Student, who studies since many years in the Gurukul Omkarananda Gayatri Ved Vidyalaya. He is so sincere and dedicated, that he is even ready to guide sometimes the smaller students.

Another Vedic Teacher, who nicely assists the Pradhan-Acharya, Shri Shivakumar Malviya, in teaching the Vedic Students, Acharya Shri Avanish Tiwari, receives Dakshina and a warm blanket from Swami Satchidananda.

While Swami Satchidananda is honouring all the 35 students of Omkarananda Gayatri Ved Vidyalaya with Dakshina and warm, soft blankets, the sun is slowly setting, and the whole area becomes enveloped in very cold fog.

To escape the cold, all the Gurukul Students quickly leave to their rooms, taking along their new warm blankets.

In the late evening of 31st December 2022 the Omkarananda Mahotsava was concluded
with a wonderful Yajna in Honour of Sadgurudev Shri Paramahamsa Omkarananda Saraswati, in the Yajnashala of the Omkarananda-Kamakshi-Devi Mandir, by the Omkarananda Ashram Priests.
