Kumari Somashekhari honoured on
International Women's Day, on 8th March 2021

On 8th March 2021, Kumari Somashekhari,
General Secretary of Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas and Indian
Classical Dancer and Musician, was busy - as usual - with Karma
Yoga (selfless service) for the Ashram and her daily
dance-practise, when she was unexpectedly surprised by a joyous
Delegation of a few Faculty Members of Omkarananda Institute of
Management and Technology (OIMT), who were guided by Mahant Shri
Swami Vishveshwarananda Saraswati, President Omkarananda Ashram
Himalayas, into the Divine Temple-Dance Room of Somashekhari.
Among much joy and happy smiles, Kumari Somashekhari was presented
with a red shawl by female OIMT Faculty Members as a sign of
reverence for Somashekhari on the occasion of International
Women's Day. Miss Diksha Batra, Assistant Professor OIMT (wearing
a light pink Sari), had specially painted a very beautiful picture
for Kumari Somashekhari in soothing colours, depicting peacocks on
a flowering tree, and lovely lotus flowers floating on a huge calm
lake. The early morning sky in the background is brightened up by
the mystical, golden-hued dawn, heralding the radiance of the
rising sun. It took 12 hours for Miss Diksha to complete that
beautiful work of Art. Somashekhari was deeply touched by this
precious gift.

few Faculty Members of OIMT, along with Swami
Vishveshwarananda and Kumari Somashekhari at the Entrance of
Omkarananda-Shanta-Durga Mandir.

Some time later again a Delegation of
Ladies came to congratulate and honour Kumari Somashekhari on the
occasion of International Women's Day. These Ladies - all active
Social Workers from Rishikesh/Muni-ki-reti - were accompanied by
Shri Pramod Uniyal, Prof. OIMT (left), to Omkarananda Ashram. All
of them presented beautiful flower bouquets to Mahant Shri Swami
Vishveshwarananda Saraswati, President Omkarananda Ashram
Himalayas, and to Kumari Somashekhari.

Finally all the wonderful Ladies, under the
dynamic Leadership of Shrimati Beena Joshi (standing next to
Kumari Somashekhari), expressed their love and affection, by
gifting a framed photo with shining sunflowers to Kumari
Somashekhari.
