Krishna-Janmashtami Celebrations
in Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas,
on 24th August 2019

The Priests of Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas had established a wonderful Altar in
Omkarananda-Kamakshi-Devi Mandir, in front of the Shrine of Shri Venkateshwara- Padmavati,
with Krishna Gopalji on a swing, in the middle, a photo of Gurudev Shri Paramahamsa
Omkarananda Saraswati on one side and a picture of Shri Radha-Krishna on the other side,
as well as Utsava Murtis of Radha and Krishna in the front.

Shri Krishna Gopalji surely enjoys sitting on his swing, decorated with flowers and leaves.

The Priests of Omkarananda Ashram had performed different Pujas at the Shrine,
along with Recitation of Vishnu-Sahasranama and other prayers. After that they were singing
nice Bhajans, glorifying Lord Krishna, while more and more Devotees started coming
to the Temple to join the Celebration.

Shri Swami Vishveshwarananda, Kumari Somashekhari and others performed a
special Krishna Arati to the lovely tunes of "Shri Banke Bihari Teri Arati Gaun",
sung by the Priests of Omkarananda Ashram.

After the wonderful Krishna Arati all Devotees took part
in the evening Arati for Shri Omkarananda-Kamakshi-Devi.

Shri G. Sukumar, Trustee, announced the devotional Dance-Performances
by Kumari Somashekhari on this holy occasion.

Guru-Bhakti-Ratna
Kumari Somashekhari performed several heart-touching and
joyous Radha-Krishna Dances in the Temple.

While dancing, Kumari Somashekhari depicts Lord Krishna Gopal,
who is lovingly taking care for the cows.

Shri Swami Vishveshwarananda Saraswati, President Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas,
inspired all Devotees with his natural and heart-warming speech. Swamiji narrated an
important portion from the Uddhava Geeta, some teachings by Lord Krishna to his Devotee Uddhava, which make clear, that God helps only, if one really and fully surrenders to Him.

Finally, Shri Swami Vishveshwaranandaji thanked each and everybody, who had
contributed to the success of the Krishna-Janmashtami Celebrations. Here one can see
Swamiji honouring a Vishnu-Bhakta, Shri Ramanujar Das, standing next to him.

In the background some Priests of Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas happily observe,
how Kumari Somashekhari is teaching a small kid of an Ashram Employee,
how to gently swing the cradle of Krishna Gopalji with the help of an attached chain.
