Upanayana Ceremony
(Sacred Thread Ceremony)
in Vanaprastha Ashram, Rishikesh,
on 28th May 2015 (Ganga Dussehra)

Young Sanskrit students are attending the Upanayana (Sacred Thread) Ceremony
and are initiated by Shri Swami Govinddev Giri.

The initiated young Vedic students are proceeding to the Satsang Hall,
to attend the further programme, including the Katha.

Govinddev Giri along with the Chief-Guest Shri Swami Vishveshwarananda Saraswati
and Kumari Somashekhari on the way to the Satsang Hall.

Kumari Somashekhari highlights the activities of Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas to a devotee
and prominent Member of VHP. On the left to Soma are sitting Mr. Ladda, Shri Sukumar and others.

The beautifully decorated dais, with the Kathavachak Shri Govinddev Giriji sitting on the Vyaaspeetham.
Shri Swami Vishveshwaranandaji addresses the huge gathering of devotees. He speaks about Shri Govinddev Giri
and his tireless work for the upliftment of the Vedic Teaching through the young Generation.
Kumari Somashekhari (standing) is translating his speech very accurately, word by word, into Hindi.

After the great Upanayana (Sacred Thread) Ceremony, the students are waiting to hear
the holy words of their Master Shri Swami Govinddev Giri.

Many people are offering Dakshina to the initiated young Saints and are seeking their Blessings.
