Enlightenment

of Intelligence

No matter what pattern of education we impart to the students, determined by the State or the Society, as instruction of intelligence, the leading purpose in our system of education remains the Enlightenment of Intelligence; dhiyo yo nah pracodayat. Such an enlightenment of the student's intelligence endows him with real and rich inner and outer wealth. It is the Value of all values. Jivanmukti* is the practical ideal of education.

Spirituality is the Light, Substance and Soul of life; it is not forms, customs, excrescences of Institutional religions. Secularism may divorce life from religion, but cannot separate life from spirituality, and spirituality from life, nor can secularism exist without nourishing factors from spirituality. Spirituality is the quintessence of all religions, and the religion of no-religion: its central content and the technique for its experience are embodied in the Gayatri-mantra, the intrinsic and inevitable aspiration in man, for the real Enlightenment of Intelligence and the method of obtaining it. It is a timeless, universal prayer-cum-technique belonging to all mankind, to all religions, to no-religions, to all nations, to all societies, to all cultures. It is the meaning, genius and fulfilment of life on earth.
