It was a surprise, when the honourable
Vice-Chancellor of the Uttarakhand Technical University, Dr. Durga
Singh Chauhan, came to pay his respects to
Omkarananda-Kamakshi-Devi Temple and to visit Swami
Vishveshwarananda and the authority in charge of the Omkarananda
Institute of Management & Technology.
Later on, in a relaxed mood, during a cup of
tea, very interesting topics were discussed, apart from general
matters regarding the Management Institute. Dr. Chauhan's
experience gained by virtue of his working with the NASA in
America, as a Professional in Electronics, was clearly visible
during the discussions. He expressed his thoughts and feelings
about the time, when he was living for several years in the United
States of America.
Dr. Chauhan, who was also posted in Lucknow
University, and is having now the highest Chair in Uttarakhand
Technical University, Dehradun, as the Vice-Chancellor, is
considered an excellent, uncompromising and straightforward
Educationist. The experience, he got, working in a foreign
country, like America, has definitely added to his educational
skills.

He narrated, that he never expected
Omkarananda Ashram of this type of magnitude as he has seen. He
appreciated specially the peaceful atmosphere and the enormous
cleanliness of Omkarananda Ashram which he says, is not everywhere
visible. He also spent some time discussing with Kumari
Somashekhari, when she showed him her Indian Classical
Dance-Academy.
As far as Omkarananda Institute of Management
& Technology is concerned (which is affiliated to the Uttarakhand
Technical University, Dehradun), he was very satisfied with its
working progress.
The Vice-Chancellor was accompanied by the
Registrar of the University, Dr. Uniyal. Shri G. Sukumar, Trustee
and Joint Secretary of the Institute, was also present.
