During the Spring-Navaratri Festival, on 9th April 2011 morning, Shri Swami Vishveshwarananda Saraswati, President of Omkarananda Ashram, got a phone-call with the message, that Shri Swami Dayananda Saraswati would like to come and have his Darshan. Immediately Swami Vishveshwaranandaji agreed and made preparations for a nice welcome.

Shri Swami Dayananda Saraswati is an internationally recognized Teacher of Vedanta and a Sanskrit Scholar of great repute. He has got Ashram Branches in India, mainly in the South, and also abroad, in the U.S.A.

One of his Ashram-Branches is situated at the holy Ganga in Sheesham Jhari, Muni-ki-reti, Rishikesh.

When Shri Swami Dayanandaji arrived with a few Sannyasi Disciples at the Headquarters of Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas, he was traditionally welcomed with Purnakumbha and recitation of Vedic Hymns by the Priests of Omkarananda Ashram. Then he was warmly welcomed and garlanded by Shri Swami Vishveshwaranandaji and guided inside the Ashram.

Swami Dayanandaji and Swami Vishveshwaranandaji had exchanges of thoughts concerning Spirituality and Education. Swami Dayanandaji praised the tremendous works of Shri Swami Omkarananda Saraswati and his Successor, Shri Swami Vishveshwarananda Saraswati, in the field of Education.

During the talks were also present Shri G. Sukumar, Trustee of Omkarananda Saraswati Charitable Trust, Swami Satchidananda, Treasurer, and Kumari Somashekhari, General Secretary of Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas.

Kumari Somashekhari appreciated, that Swami Dayanandaji is not only a great Sanskrit-Scholar, but also a Composer of Indian Classical Music. One of his compositions, a devotional Song for Lord Shiva, has become famous world-wide and has been sung by many Indian Classical Musicians and also been performed many times by different Bharatanatyam Dancers: "Bho Shambho Shivashambho Swayambho…", in Revathi Raaga and Adi Taala.

After the nice and informal talks, Shri Swami Dayanandaji and his disciples were guided to the Mandapa of Omkarananda-Kamakshi-Devi Mandir, where they could have the Darshan of the beautiful Devi and were blessed with Prasadam.
