Mahashivaratri
Celebrations in
Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas, on 2nd March 2011
On
2nd March 2011, Mahashivaratri, the great festival dedicated to
Lord Shiva, was celebrated with deep devotion and religious
fervour in all the Shiva-Temples of Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas.
In addition, this year a very special Puja and
additional Abhisheka were conducted in Shri Mahakala-Bhairava
Mandir, situated at the Headquarters of Omkarananda Ashram
Himalayas, with the assistance of Shri Tarun Agarwal from Roswell,
Georgia, U.S.A.

The three
Priests Sanjay, Mukesh and Kaushal along with Shri
Sukumar, Trustee, are performing Puja in front of Lord
Mahakala-Bhairava. |

Amidst chanting of Vedic Hymns and Mantras for
Lord Mahakala-Bhairava, Abhisheka with holy Ganges-Water,
Cow-Milk, Curd, Honey, Sugar, fragrant Vibhuti and other
ingredients was offered to the Deity.
After the Abhisheka, Lord Mahakala-Bhairava
was beautifully decorated and Arati was performed by the Priests
of Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas. Finally, Prasad was distributed
to all the participants and devotees.
