
Omkarananda Institute of Management and Technology
celebrated its 12th Foundation Day with great excitement and
jubilation on 7th September 2010. OIMT has completed 11 years of
its academic journey. It was established in the year 1999 with a
small set up, which has now spread over 5 acres of land and a
strength of nearly 700 students.
The OIMT premises were decorated with colourful flags, flowers,
banners and Rangoli designs, besides shining in its natural
greenery and colourful flowers in the lawns.
On this occasion the Chief-Guest, His Holiness Shri Swami
Vishveshwarananda Saraswatiji, President of Omkarananda Charitable
Trust and Kumari Somashekhariji, Secretary, were warmly welcomed
by the students and faculty members with traditional rituals.

The function was inaugurated with the auspicious ceremony of
lighting the lamp and worshipping the Holy Feet of Paramahamsa
Swami Omkarananda Saraswatiji by Chief Guest, Swami
Vishveshwaranandaji, along with the melodious singing of Saraswati
Vandana by the students. The Chief Guest and other guests were
honoured with bouquets.

In his inaugural speech His Holiness Swami Vishveshwarananda
Saraswatiji congratulated the students and staff of OIMT for
successful completion of 11 years. Swamiji was fascinated by the
beautiful decoration of the pandal. He also appreciated the
valuable contribution of students and faculty for organizing this
event. The Secretary of Management Committee of OIMT, Kumari
Somashekhariji, also extended her good wishes to the students and
said that the Institute will work in the direction of achieving
the objectives set by its Founder, as the Grace of Paramahamsa
Swami Omkarananda Saraswatiji Maharaj always keeps showering
Blessings on each one of us. She also sang a Garhwali folk song in
her sweet melodious voice on the request of the other guests.

The event witnessed the gracious presence of Mr. M.S. Negi,
Chairman, OIMT Management Committee, Mr. D.K. Varshney, Mr. I.D.
Joshi, Mr. R.S. Rawat, Dr. Pankaj Bijalwan and others.
The students presented a number of heart captivating programmes on
this very occasion. The cultural programmes presented by the
students of MBA, BBA and BCA courses commenced with a devotional
'Vandana' followed by various group and solo dance performances.
Ms. Aditi Nautiyal, student of BCA, mesmerized the audience with
her classical solo dance performance. Some students came up with
melodious Punjabi, Garhwali and Hindi songs to entertain the
audience. The show stopper was however the Ramp show depicting the
cultural diversity of India through a number of girl-students
dressed up as beautiful brides of different regions. Melodious
Sufi songs, presented by Deepak Chamoli and group of MBA 1st
Semester, captivated the audience.
Overall it was a day full of
pride, enjoyment and celebration for the OIMT family.
