Koti
Gayatri Maha Yagna,
21st and 22nd April 2007, in Bangalore Report
by Prof. Sadanand Murti
It was a big moment for the people in the
streets of Bangalore, when five chariots, each with two horses, brought the
prominent Swamijis in a grand procession to Subhash Chandra Bose Ground,
Saneguruvanahalli, Basaveshwara Nagar. The holy procession was led by an
Utsava Murti of Shri Gayatri Mata, followed by all Swamijis in the chariots
giving divine blessings to a huge crowd of Bangalore devotees, following the
procession.
Shri Vallabha Chaitanya - a vibrant
devotee of Shri Gayatri Mata - and President of Gayatri Tapobhoomi
Charitable Trust - organised a grand Maha Yagna in an excellent and utmost
caring way.
The two days Maha Yagna started with
Madhuparka, Punyahavachana and Devatha Prathishtapana, followed by
"Tulabhara" for Pujya Sri Vishweshtheertha Sripadangalavaru, Mathadeeshwar,
Pejawar Math, Udupi, and benedictions by Mahatmas. The first day's functions
were concluded by Gurubhakti-Ratna Kumari Somashekhari, Secretary of
Omkarananda Charitable Trust, Rishikesh (Himalayas) with an excellent
Temple-Dance-performance in typical South-Indian style.
Shri Swami Vishveshwaranandaji, President
of Omkarananda Ashram, sitting along with all other Mahatmas on the Dais,
expressed his deepest reverence and adorations to the heart-touching
devotion of thousands of people from Karnataka, who had assembled for this
Maha Yagna and he felt, that Bangalore should be a place, called "Gayatri
Nagar". He further appreciated the tremendous work of Swami Vallabha
Chaitanya and called him the "living Presence of Gayatri Ma".
Several times, during Swami
Vishveshwaranandaji's speech, all assembled devotees, touched by Swamiji's
natural, sweet and divine way of addressing them, were clapping
spontaneously with great joy and enthusiasm.
The second day's highlight were many
Yagnas, Pujas and a grand Poornahuti, conducted by expert-pandits.
Afterwards all Mahatmas and guests were felicitated and the function was
concluded by a Vote of Thanks by Shri Vallabha Chaitanyaji.
Rajnikant's
Surprise Visit to
Omkarananda-Kamakshi-Devi Mandir
on 10th May 2007
One of the most popular actors in India,
who is from South, not only likes acting, but is also deeply touched by the
religious and spiritual values of the Indian Divine Culture. As a man,
dedicated to the holy shrines of Uttarakhand and Mother Ganga, he was on his
way visiting holy places, when he suddenly saw the majestic shrine of
Omkarananda-Kamakshi-Devi, a Temple in typical South-Indian style. Shortly
after having Darshan of the Devi and other Divinities, he expressed his
feelings to our Swami Narasimhuluji Maharaj, Swami Vishveshwarananda, Kumari
Somashekhari and friends.
He was delighted to see the heavenly
decorated Omkarananda-Kamakshi-Devi, whom he lovingly called "Ambal".
He told that he was very surprised and
astonished to find such a beautiful South-Indian Temple in the Rishikesh
area.
Swami Vishveshwarananda, President of
Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas, seeing the deep devotion of Shri Rajnikant
towards the Divine Mother, immediately offered a Rudraksha-Mala, being
blessed by Omkarananda-Kamakshi-Devi, around his neck!
Before leaving the
Omkarananda-Kamakshi-Devi Mandir Shri Rajnikant had requested Swami
Vishveshwar'ananda and Kumari Soma'shekhari to pay a visit to his place in
Chennai at any time whenever they will come to South-India.
